My school resumption interview

As I drove to work this morning, I saw a cameraman and his sound technician interviewing vehicle owners and passengers about their school resumption experience.

It was drizzling and sunny that morning, I guess there was a rainbow somewhere on that beautiful sky waiting to be appreciated by me! Though it was drizzling, I took down my car window to make myself available for an interview. Please don’t laugh; it is sometimes very exciting participating in a vox pop! I looked at the car by my side and I saw this lady driver quickly raising her car window, I wondered if she was blocking out the light rain or making herself unavailable for an interview.

Indeed the cameraman and his technician approached me and asked my impression about the first day of school resumption. I told them everything is ok so far in spite of the traffic around the office of the Centre Region Governor's office and the light rain. They asked me what I thought was causing the congestion, I said besides the road works in the indicated area, it is obvious that there are more vehicles on the road taking students to school.

Interview over, they asked for my business card. I had one handy, and by handy, I mean inside my handbag. Thanks to the slow traffic I was able to fetch it. It is then that I realized I didn’t know which media organ they belonged to! They didn’t introduce themselves either! So I asked as I drove off and they shouted back “CRTV!” So I just might be seeing that interview in their evening newscast today.

I am happy to announce to you, dear reader, that my interview was broadcast that same day during the Monday morning program on CRTV called "Bonjour". My younger brother saw it and called me to ask if it was me, I guess the dynamic sunshades I wore that morning as you can see in the picture, was misleading but for the voice.

A beautiful story - a good display of journalism instincts as well. Poor CRTV reporter and cameraman, if only they knew they were vox popping a trained journalist cum diplomat. I'll glad when Patience writes. She does not only write, but writes well. A good writer. please pick up a colum in a soft publication.
